What you need
To send your first message you need these on Meta's side:
- A phone number that is not on the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app. Use a new one, or move yours off the app first. (Business app vs API)
- A Facebook login that can manage your Meta business.
- A card on your WhatsApp Business account before you send templates. Meta bills it directly; we never mark it up.
- Business verification can wait. It only raises how many people you can message a day. (Full requirements)

- What does the free trial include?
- Everything except teams for 30 days, with one WhatsApp number and up to 1,000 messages — enough to set up templates, flows and a test bulk send. No card needed; you pick a plan at the end. Picking one early unlocks teams straight away, and your trial days carry over.
- What happens when the trial ends?
- Sending pauses until you choose a plan. Nothing is deleted — your templates, contacts, flows and conversations are all still there, and sending resumes the moment you subscribe.
- What does Meta charge, and who pays it?
- Meta charges per template message, priced by the recipient's country and the template category. You add a card to your own WhatsApp Business account and Meta bills you directly — we never touch that money or add a markup. Replies inside the 24-hour customer service window count as Meta service messages: the first 1,000 a month per business phone number are free, then Meta charges (Meta pricing page, checked 23 Oct 2026).
- What counts as a message?
- Only messages you start count: template messages, bulk sends and drip sequences. Free-form replies from the inbox or your assistant, auto-replies and chatbot flow messages don't count. Incoming messages are free and unlimited, failed sends don't count, and test-key API calls never count.
- Why one flat price per plan?
- Every feature is on every plan; plans differ in numbers, seats and messages you start. You pay your plan ($19, $49 or $149 a month) plus Meta's message charges, which Meta bills to your own WhatsApp Business account. Stuck on Meta's setup? Email us and we reply within one business day.
- Can I change or cancel my plan?
- Yes, any time. Upgrades apply immediately; if you cancel, your plan runs to the end of the month you've paid for.
- Can I subscribe from my AI assistant?
- Yes. Ask it to upgrade you and it gives you a secure checkout link; you pay on our payment provider's page, never in the chat. Days left on your trial carry over.
- Do you handle VAT and sales tax?
- Yes. Payments go through Dodo Payments as merchant of record, which calculates and collects VAT and sales tax and issues a proper invoice — useful for businesses in the EU and UK.
