Templates

Templates are pre-approved messages you need to start a conversation or message someone outside the 24-hour window.

Create one

Dashboard: Templates → New template. The builder checks Meta's formatting rules as you type — variable numbering, sample values, start/end rules, lengths, buttons, duplicates — and shows a live preview.

Chat: describe it — "a shipping update with the customer's name and tracking link". The assistant drafts it, runs check_template, fixes anything flagged, submits with create_template, then checks get_template_status.

Categories

• UTILITY — transactional updates the customer expects (orders, bookings, account).
• MARKETING — anything promotional. Meta re-categorises mislabelled templates.
• AUTHENTICATION — one-time passcodes.

Approval

Review usually takes minutes, sometimes up to 24 hours. With the webhook on, status updates arrive automatically; otherwise use Check status. Rejections include Meta's reason.

Variables

Write {{1}}, {{2}} in order with a sample for each. When sending, each variable is filled from a contact column, the contact's name, or fixed text.
